Well, unlike expansions to the previous RollerCoaster Tycoon games, Atari and Frontier are busting out with a big addition that takes the series into new territory.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked will let virtual tycoons design, develop, and profit from their very own water parks.

Everything from slides to wave pools complete a large expansion that Atari is saying will outstrip any expansion for the series to date.

Producer Ken Allen was nice enough to offer up some answers to the questions we had about this upcoming water powered expansion.

IGNPC: Obviously, this game is going to have to do with water parks instead of your typical roller coaster park.

What sorts of rides can we expect Water rides like the log flumes, or water slides that give visitors water enemas as theyre sliding down at breakneck speeds Absolutely - plus a lot more RCT3: Soaked is like no other RCT expansion pack because players can build a different kind of amusement park than they ever could before.

Soaked will include 50 new ride and coaster types - including flume rides, water slides, pool, wave pools, beaches, and more - as well as new coaster tracks and cars, etc.

IGNPC: Does designing rides and attractions based around water provide any particular challenges Have you played RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked YES NO Ken Allen: It does but we are using the same familiar coaster-building interface found in RCT3 so players will find that building waterslides and the like will be as easy as before.

However, we are also adding some more complex rides to this game that may make building attractions a little more challenging but in a fun way IGNPC: Will there be different types of themes to go with the water atmosphere Perhaps pirate or Atlantis type themes Ken Allen: RCT3 Soaked will include additional themed designs for scenery, shops and attractions, but its too early to talk about what they are yet.

We think that one of the most exciting things about this expansion pack is that it actually extends game play beyond a traditional amusement park.

When you install RCT3: Soaked, you now have to consider your park guests attitudes for the wide variety of water-based amusements you can now add to your park.

IGNPC: Will peeps have different attitudes towards water rides vs.

Ken Allen: Definitely - which is why we are not limiting the attractions to those that require swimsuits and will be adding a vast selection of rides where the peeps get soaking wet in their clothes.

Were also designing the game so players can set the water park away from the rest of the park.

IGNPC: Along the same lines, will peeps behavior be modified at all Maybe enhanced with new animations to show more excitement or disappointment in rides Ken Allen: Most definitely The peep behavior in Soaked has been completely revamped to include preferences for the types of attractions found at water parks.

IGNPC: Can little peeps pee in the water Ken Allen: I guess it wouldnt be a real water park without that, would it They will and were also adding a fun element there so youll know what theyve done.
